Benefit for Haley Swanson
Haley is a 13 year old girl with dermatomyositis. This is a autoimmune disease that causes the persons own immune system to attack the muscles and skin.
The disease causes the skin to be discolored with purple/red colors and muscle weakness.
Haley was diagnosed in November 2008. She is treated by Wake Forest Medical Physicians.
When diagnosis was made the treatment plan was high dose steroids for 18 months for 2 years. Recently after 13 months of the steroid treatments we were told that the treatment was not working as planned. She continues to be on high doses and the attack has not stopped.
The next step has been to start home infusions of IVIG. Which is a medication that is made of human plasma that is used to calm the immune system in her disease. This requires Haley to have an IV for this treatment.
Haley has been a real trooper thru this so far. She continues to mantain AB honor role at school. She is a strong girl.
Prognosis is unclear at present. Hopefully with this new treatment we can stop the damage being done to her muscles and maintain her mobility.
Haley is the daughter of Tommy and Kathy Swanson. She has one younger sister named Lexey. She is the grand-daughter of Carl and Elaine Swanson and Lonnie and Hilda Mintz.
We will be having several fundraisers throughout the county. One will be at Rideable Customs on June 27, 2009. Cost of the ride is $10.00 per bike. We will be leaving Rideable Customs at 2pm. After the ride there will be food and a auction with all proceeds from all fundraisers going to the family for medical expenses.
For and information contact Jack Phillips at Rideable Customs at 828-837-7333.

We at Rideable Customs would like to thank everyone who came out for the benefit ride for Haley Swanson. We would also like to send out a special thanks to everyone who donated to the ride. The ride and auction turned out to be a wonderful success. The riders had a terrific time riding in the beautiful mountains then we all had a great cookout meal. The auction brought laughter and fun. At the end of the auction the proceeds were presented to the family. Haley sent a post out to everyone after the ride and we wanted to share it with all of you:
Haley A Swanson: Happy, yesterday was great thank you to all the bikers and all the money we raised. Thank you to all my family aunt and uncles and cousins and every one.
Once again we at Rideable Customs want to thank everyone who made this ride possible. |

Attn Twin Cam Engine Owners
Twin Cam Chain Tensioner Failure!!!
If your twin cam has 15,000 miles on it you are at risk of failure, which results in major engine damage. We have seen this happening more and more at about 15,000 miles. To fix the problem you need to replace the tensioner,or the best fix is to go with the gear to gear cams and never worry about it again.
If you have any questions call Jack at Rideable Customs 828-837-7333.
